Weddings require specialized equipment and training!

Its your wedding day and the last thing you want is someone showing up to photograph your wedding with a point and shoot camera, It has happened! Or not showing up at all because there camera broke, It has happened! These are just a couple stories I have heard. It makes me so aggravated when I hear these stories for many reasons, #1 because it gives good wedding photographers a bad name but a good wedding photographer would never consider doing a wedding with a point and shoot camera and always has back up equipment. The problem has 2 parts to it, 1 part is the new photographer saying " I want to do wedding" but they don't have the money to buy the correct equipment so they use what they have. the 2 nd part of the problem to be honest is the bride & groom that book them, Most of the time they know these people are just starting out and they may even say "I'll do it so I have pictures for my portfolio" So the bride & groom book them thinking that $500 they paid is going to get them exceptable pictures of there wedding day, Until the wedding day comes. Don't risk your wedding day on someone just starting out. All Good wedding photographers started out being an apprentice to a good wedding photographer, They have learned from someone that has tought them the ins and outs of the business not just picked up a camera one day and deciding I am going to be a wedding photographer. Also when you hear these stories don't confuse them with real profession photographers because they are not. A real profession spends years training, hours getting ready, and a lifetime learning wedding photography. Its not an overnight thought to be a wedding photographer.
