When booking a Wedding photographer!

When booking a wedding photographer it is extremely important to see as many full weddings as you can from them. Just going to someone's website and looking at a few of the pictures that they have posted online is not going to give you an idea of what a full wedding will look like. It's also important to find out how long they have been doing wedding photography and what training they have had that makes them a professional photographer?. Did they go to school for photography? or learn on the job? and if they learned in the job how many wedding have they done?. Also you will want to see printed photographs to make sure that the "high dynamic range" that you see online can actually be printed with in the limits of today's photographic paper. What type of albums do you get? What's the quality of the albums? Do you even get albums? Are they a part of any professional organizations? If they are verify with that organization they are still members in good standing. Ask them what types of lighting they use? Flash, natural lighting. Ask then to show you in there work examples of broad lighting, shirt lighting, profile lighting, You personally may not know the answers to these questions but the response from the photographer will help you evaluate the knowledge and experience of the photographer. It's basically the difference between someone that knows what they are doing and applies photographic knowledge in a artistic way to create your photographs, or someone that just pushes a button and hopes for the best. most photographers that know what they are doing will have very we'll thought out answer to these questions and even if they were never asked them before they should be able to come up with answers very quickly.

BKM Photography is a member of Professional Photographers of america PPA www.ppa.com and WPPI Wedding and portrait photographer international www.wppionline.com One reason why these two organizations are important is because they help the photographer stay up to date with the most recent trends in the industry, Everything from training to the newest albums. While PPA does have a certified professional photography program which includes a test and having images judge before the photographer can be certified, WPPI does not have a certified profession photographer program. Anyone claiming to be certified by any one of these organizations can contact the organization directly to verify if that photographer is or is not certified and if they are a member or not.
